Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Where are you, where do you cover?

I live in Northumberland, near Alnwick. I shoot weddings all over the region, I also shoot around the UK. A fuel and accommodation fee will be required for nationwide weddings, but I’ve shot on the beach at Bournemouth and in the highlands of Scotland.

Are you insured?

Yes, I have full professional insurance. If your venue require a copy of my insurance then just let me know.

When will we get our photos?

Your will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within maximum 8 weeks (sometimes less depending on the season I photograph your story). You can download all the photos from the gallery but also share them, choose your favorites, and also order prints!

We want to book you! How do we do it?

Let’s meet up for a chat, and talk about your big day and how I’d capture it. I’d then need you to complete a booking contract and I require a booking fee which is 25% of the total fee. The balance is then paid three weeks before the wedding.

Can you hold my wedding date without me filling out a contract or paying a booking fee?

I’m sorry I can’t. I get a lot of enquiries and in order to be as fair as possible I can only remove my availability once a booking fee is paid and the contract is completed.

I want formal group photographs, will you take them?

Yes, they’re an important part of your wedding photography. They can take quite a while to get through so I suggest that you keep them to 15 groups and that you provide me with a list of who is in which photograph. I’ll bring copies of the list to the wedding and enlist the help of some of your most dependable friends/family to help me get guests in the right place as quickly as possible so that you get more time catching up with guests rather than standing and smiling on cue.

Will you ‘photoshop’ me? Will you give me a nip and tuck?

This is something I am really passionate about, and the short answer is no, I wont. I am a huge advocate of the body positivity movement and I photograph real people and real love. Your fiance wants to marry you for who you are, you are who they want to spend the rest of their life with, not an altered version of you. I have a ‘two week’ policy, where I will remove anything that wasn’t there two weeks ago, or won’t be there in two weeks time, such as a spot for example. When you get your wedding photographs back I want you to see the person you fell in love with standing next to you in your photos, not two computer generated ideas of people.

We’re having a small wedding, or a late wedding can we have a discount?

I’m sorry no, I cover whole weddings and whole stories, so if your wedding starts later in the day then I will have to work faster to capture your whole story. This means I will capture the same amount of photographs as a longer/bigger wedding so the processing work will be the same. It’s not fair on other clients to offer discounts, love is love, and a wedding is never a half measure and deserves the same amount of work to capture it beautifully.

Do I need to feed you and your assistant?

Being fed is a very kind gesture but I know some venues charge the same price as they do a guest to feed vendors so if you have a hot buffet in the evening then we will happily bring a packed lunch for during the day, and grab some hot food in the evening in between night shots.

We’re getting married at a church then traveling to our reception venue, that’s ok isn’t it?

Absolutely, we’ll discuss your timings at our meetings and where you’d like your formal groups taken. Please do check with your officiant what the ceremony venue’s photo policy is. Some vicars/priests/officiants don’t allow photography which can often leave you feeling very disappointed if you (and I) only discover this on the day. Find out as early as possible, they may be more amenable if they know that a full time professional is taking your wedding photographs.

What time will you be taking photos until?

I don’t clock watch, I will only leave when I feel I have enough to tell the story of your day. I’ll still be there after your first dance, all your photos will be relaxed without pressure. At anytime you can say “Dru can we have 5 or 10 minutes, this is our favourite song!”.

Can we print our photos?

Absolutely, I provide you with a royalty-free print licence to make as many prints as you like from your USB.

Can we put our photos on facebook?

Of course! Facebook don’t like large high res files though and compress them so their quality diminishes. I don’t want that and neither do you, so I provide you with web ready images for social media, along with a reminder to not use these versions for print.

We’d like our online gallery to have a password, is that possible?

Of course. Just let me know what password you’d like and then I leave it up to you as to who you give the password out to.

Can we meet you?

Yes! Please, face to face meetings are the best way to get to know eachother and what you’d like out of your wedding photography. Let’s chat!

How do we meet you?

Drop me an email, or fill in the form at the bottom of the page and let me know your wedding date and venue and we can arrange a meeting somewhere convenient for all parties. If you’re further afield we can skype.

Do you have any advice on how to get the most out of our photography?
