Tucked away in the heart of the Northumberland countryside, Woodhill Hall is one of those venues that feels wonderfully secluded yet effortlessly elegant. Sitting right on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, it’s surrounded by rolling fields, big skies and peaceful woodland — a dream setting for relaxed, private wedding.

The morning of your wedding sets the tone for the whole day, and Woodhill Hall’s spacious getting-ready room is perfect for it. With plenty of space for the bride and bridesmaids to spread out, laugh, sip prosecco and take a breath before the ceremony, it offers a calm, light-filled environment that photographs beautifully. It’s ideal for capturing those quiet moments, excited nerves and emotional exchanges as the day begins.
The Bespoke Ceremony Chapel
Woodhill Hall’s bespoke ceremony chapel is a real highlight. It offers a stunning setting for your vows while also providing a huge advantage for photography being an all-weather space. Rain or shine, this means gorgeous, consistent light and shelter, allowing for beautiful ceremony and portrait images no matter what the Northumberland weather decides to do.
The Terrace & Northumbrian Views
Stepping outside onto the terrace and you’re met with sweeping views across the Northumbrian fields. This area is incredibly versatile and one of my favourite spots at Woodhill Hall. It’s perfect for confetti throwing, relaxed family formals, and even outdoor ceremonies when the weather allows. The open landscape creates a stunning backdrop that will last long in the memory of your guests.
A massive plus point of having a bespoke ceremony space is that you don't eat where you get married. This means that the traditional ceremony room can be used for your family formals if it is raining or just too cold to get people outside.
This is a feature I really recommend to couples when looking for a venue. If your budget allows, always try and book a venue that has this additional space, it can be invaluable at any time of the year!
Because I bring my own lighting equipment I can light your formal photos indoors and make them look just as good as if they had been outdoors.
The Sheltered Courtyard
The courtyard is wonderfully sheltered, making it an ideal spot for your drinks reception. It’s a space made for hugs, catch-ups and laughter, where guests can mingle comfortably while you soak in the atmosphere. From a photography point of view, it’s brilliant for capturing natural interactions and those in-between moments that tell the real story of your day.
The Orangery
Light, spacious and elegant, the Orangery is the perfect setting for your wedding breakfast and speeches. Flooded with natural light, it creates beautiful conditions for photographing candid laughs, emotional speeches, happy tears and heartfelt reactions. It’s a room that feels both grand and welcoming — ideal for storytelling images that reflect the joy of your celebration.
The Signature Wooded Drive
One of Woodhill Hall’s most iconic features is its wooded drive. This tree-lined approach gives Woodhill weddings their signature look and provides the perfect backdrop for romantic couple portraits. Dancing the Night Away in the Tipi
As the day turns into night, the party moves to the Tipi — and this is where Woodhill Hall really comes alive. It’s a fantastic space to let your hair down, kick off your shoes and dance the night away. The relaxed, festival-style atmosphere makes for brilliant evening photos full of movement, energy and pure joy.
I have my own lighting set up for the party and work alongside any lighting that your DJ or Band may also provide.
Sunset in the Meadow
Woodhill Hall is blessed with some magnificent sensets. Only a short walk from the Tipi and you can be bathed in that afterglow of your wedding day.
