I have been the recommended photographer at Doxford Barns for over ten years now, and it’s a venue that genuinely feels like home to me. I grew up on a farm myself, with my dad being a farmer, so there’s something deeply familiar and comforting about Doxford Barns that I instantly connected with from the very beginning.

I love how seamless the morning can be, with bridal prep taking place above the Threshing Hall, in The Coup meaning you don’t even need to step outside before walking into the ceremony. I always ask on my enquiry form what made you pick this venue and so many brides say The Coup and it's proximity to the ceremony was what sealed it for them, there is zero stress getting from Prep to the top of the ailse.

The Threshing Hall


For me, The Threshing Hall, a dedicated ceremony space, is the jewel in the crown of Doxford Barns. It is one of the best in Northumberland—used solely for ceremonies, it feels truly sacred, much like churches were historically reserved for this exact purpose.

The Great Barn is equally impressive, comfortably hosting large celebrations while still feeling warm and intimate for smaller weddings. Add to that the two beautiful drinks reception areas—the front lawn with its sweeping views over rolling Northumbrian fields, and the sheltered courtyard featuring the rustic Bit Bar horsebox, ample seating, and protection from the wind—and it’s easy to see why Doxford Barns is a venue I never tire of photographing.

Dog Friendly!
If you want to have your dog at your wedding then Doxford is the place for you, with dogs even allowed in your first dance! If a venue says they're dog friendly, then I reccommend you checking what areas are dog friendly, lots of venues say they are dog friendly bt the areas they are permitted is very limited. Doxford Barns certainly delivers on their dog friendly promise!
